Eat 1 Whole Pizza Every Day And Lose Weight: The Surprising Results Of The Weight Loss Experiment

Have you ever wondered what it would be like if you could eat your favorite food that you knew was unhealthy…and still lose weight? Well, I was wondering that myself. Then I set out to see how I could lose weight by eating my favorite food (pizza) every day.

I have a lot of weight loss clients who have no discipline and just can’t eat healthy for more than a few days… even if I put a gun to their head (Ok, not really… no gun involved).

So I have to develop innovative ways for them to lose weight. Anyway, here are the amazing results of my “Pizza a Day Weight Loss Experiment.”

Now, one of my favorite foods is Mexican Style Totino’s frozen pizzas. Cost, 98 cents at Wal-Mart. So my plan was to eat 1 of these a day for 10 days.

This is how I did it:

Breakfast:

I had 3 scrambled eggs with 1/2 can of black beans…and 2 tablespoons of sour cream. Ok, with me so far? I’m not going to eat pizza every meal. Just 2 meals… and I’m limiting myself to just 3 meals (which I don’t normally do).

This is a total of about 415 net calories. I’m not counting carbs in fiber. The eggs had 210 calories, the black beans had 145 net calories, and the sour cream had 60 calories.

Lunch:

1/2 of the frozen Totino’s pizza with another 1/2 can of black beans and 2 tablespoons of sour cream. Half of the pizza equals 360 calories, 18 grams of fat, 36 grams of carbohydrates, and 16 grams of protein. The 1/2 can of black beans has a net total of about 145 calories since I’m not counting the carbs from the fiber. Sour cream again has 60 calories.

So this meal was 565 calories.

Dinner:

For dinner, I had the other half of the pizza, another 1/2 can of black beans, and another 2 tablespoons of sour cream. (Note: You don’t realize I love black beans! They’re high in protein and fiber with no sugar carbs! I consider them a superfood!) So this meal had another 565 calories.

So my totals… It was about 1545 actual calories. 91 grams of protein, 40 grams of fiber, 65 grams of fat, and 142 grams of net carbs.

Fat Totals:

11 grams of sour cream

36 gram pizza

5 grams of black beans

13 grams of eggs

Total proteins:

18 grams of eggs

3 grams of sour cream

38 grams of black beans

32 gram pizza

Total Net Carbs:

63 grams of black beans

6 grams of sour cream

1 gram of eggs

72 gram pizza

The only thing I ate during these days was fruit for nibbles… among the choices… apples, grapefruit, bananas, blueberries and raspberries. I didn’t bother adding those calories. I only drank water too.

Now for the amazing results…

I didn’t know what to expect as frozen pizzas are definitely not healthy. He was also consuming a lot of carbohydrates. Anyway, in the 10 days, I lost a total of 3 pounds. Success! It worked.

I have since put a few of my clients on slightly modified versions of this diet and about 80% of them were able to lose weight. So this gives me a thumbs up if you want to lose weight…and if you only do it for a short period of time. Heck, it’s dirt cheap too. It costs less than $2 per day. Wow.

So, to be clear… you can eat “unhealthy” and still lose weight. I didn’t change anything with my exercise program. So the weight loss had nothing to do with exercising more.

Would I advise you to live on this diet forever? Definitely not. But for 7-10 days, yes, it can help you lose weight while eating tasty and unhealthy food. Hmm, maybe I should develop an ice cream and fries weight loss diet! It is not a joke!

Bonus tip: For a crazy diet like this to work, you must choose foods high in protein or fiber to base the diet…or use high protein/fiber foods as supplements in the diet. With this diet, the black beans were high in fiber and protein. The pizzas were “balanced”. Anyway, I’ve actually created a few more crazy diets like this for my clients based on different foods. The results for them were similar to the results of the “Pizza a Day Weight Loss Experiment.”

So don’t fixate on your thinking on how to lose weight. There are many different ways.

If I were to give you a few more diets like this, do you think you could try one of them and prove or disprove them for yourself?
