Lose Weight: Kick the Fast Food Habit Now!

I read an article not long ago about a man who wanted 4 fast food chains to pay him a court settlement for serving him “finger licking food that made him fat”. The man allegedly claimed: “I was never told what he was eating!” How silly is that? Or is that it? Do you really know what you’re putting into your body after that 5-minute wait at the drive-thru?

It’s silly at first glance, but most of us don’t realize what we’re doing to our bodies with this fast food. Besides causing obesity, fast food can cause many ailments, diabetes and heart problems are some of these unhealthy results.

Face it, our bodies were never made for the constant ingestion of junk fuel! You wouldn’t put sugar or garbage in your gas tank, would you? Yet it seems that we do exactly that when we eat the wrong or harmful foods that are so readily available.

What would happen if you poured some oil into your gas tank? You just wouldn’t do that, would you? No way! Yet we see people do this en masse every day at fast food places and not think about it! Everyone else does, so it must be fine, right? Nope!

Most people take better care of their cars than their own bodies. What would you do if you stopped at a gas station that had two nozzles, one for junk fuel and one for healthy fuel? That would be too dumb an option, wouldn’t it? All things being equal, most would opt for the best fuel, right? Get the good stuff, because this is my car, this is valuable. How do you think your body is? All is important!

So why do so many opt for the fast food option? The answer is quite easy. Convenience! This has to be the number one reason so many of us choose to eat this disgusting form of food! Even I can attest that this heart-stopping, artery-clogging junk tastes pretty good! But at what price do I ask?

Old habits are hard to kill, but in fact we are slowly killing ourselves when we eat so poorly. What if that healthy fuel nozzle costs the same or less than the bad fuel nozzle, would you at least try the good one and see how it works?

Would you be willing to at least try the good fuel for a week maybe? I understand that it takes about 30 days to break a bad habit. So, would it make sense to try to eat healthy for at least this first week? maybe two? Try it for the full thirty days and see and feel the difference! You will be pleasantly surprised, I promise!

Just think of the positive benefits you would get if you prepared healthy food at home! If you feel like you don’t know what to eat and be safe and healthy to lose weight and feel great, don’t do it! You’re not alone and you don’t have to eat bland food or “rabbit” food to do this the right way.

Well, for starters, most of us work outside the home and have access to a microwave and refrigerator, right? If you don’t, you could spend a couple of bucks on a cooler and beverage container at least, and make your own meals that are so much healthier than any golden arch or paper crown place.

To conquer fast food cravings and habit, we can make a meal that is cheaper and better fuel for our bodies than anything you can buy at burger joints. I’ve made the gradual switch myself, and every once in a while, if I fall into a fast food craving, I not only feel guilty, I literally feel sick after devouring that slider and fries! Not good!

The only heart-healthy fast food franchise in the US is Subway! That’s a fact. You can Google it and see for yourself that this is true.

Don’t take my word for it, how about listening to two expert nutritionists and see what their idea is of the best foods for weight loss and especially maintenance?
