Remodel the house with textured paint

There are several old houses and buildings that are being sold today at very low prices. If you move into one of those houses, chances are you’ll find almost everything in the place in its worn-out state. Surely, they will give you the impression of a place that is obviously as old as time. Although this conceit is not meant to scare you out of that house, the only thing you could do to bring it to life is to remodel its interiors. Of course, it’s understandable that you have no idea where to start. If you want to get started right away, consider repainting the walls first.

Before repainting the walls, you should inspect them for cracks and holes. Usually the walls of an old house are so worn that the paint starts to peel. If you have found some visible defects on the walls, it is best to use a textured paint to cover them. It is often pre-mixed with gravel-like particles, giving walls a grainy appearance.

Textured paints are often used as wallpaper alternatives. You can do some techniques with these paints to achieve a faux finish on the walls. To create a faux finish, choose the color that best suits your interiors and keep some special trowels, putty knives and rollers on hand.

After repainting the walls, you can also add some decorations, especially picture frames. But you are not going to drill into the wall since you will only spoil the paint. You can use Industrial Velcro by hanging the frames on the walls. It can support the weight of a picture frame, so it stays there as if it had been nailed to the wall.
