The NBA store recently announced the best jersey sales of the 2009-2010 season. Once again, Kobe Bryant found himself at the top of that list. It’s no surprise that second place on that list is two-time MVP LeBron James. The following spots were filled by Boston’s Kevin Garnett, Chicago’s Derrick Rose and the Magic’s Dwight Howard. The only reason Oklahoma City’s Kevin Durant was as low as 10 despite leading the league in scoring is probably because he plays for a small-market team.

The NBA store’s sales are greatly affected by its sales in New York City. At Top Sports Jerseys, we have similar rankings but they are not identical. We may have a better pulse on the national average since the store is online and easily accessible to shoppers across the country.

Our top 5 list consists of LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Dwayne Wade, Rose, and Durant. That shouldn’t surprise anyone, as all five players had stellar seasons. Durant’s push came late in the season when he caught up with James as the league’s leading scorer. He led his team in the playoffs and helped them take the Lakers to 6 before falling short. Rose and the Bulls played hard against the Cavs, but fell short again this year. Rose’s performance in the playoffs helped his jersey sales cause.

Among all the players in our top 5, only Bryant remains in the playoffs. We’ll show the results at the end of the postseason to see how the jersey sales rankings stack up. For now, rest assured, the remaining four teams (Orlando, Boston, LA and Phoenix) are making solid sales.
